PHS and Longwood Gardens present a Landscape and Design Lecture. Internationally-known landscape architect and author Kim Wilkie will speak about his philosophy of land and human settlement, illustrating the ideas with examples of his work. Kim will show how ancient traditions of sculpting the land can inspire new forms and meanings, while simultaneously creating habitats for wildlife and spaces for gathering or theatre. Longwood Gardens’ East Plaza landform and green wall are two US examples of his work.Kim will sign copies of his book, Led by the Land, following the lecture, and books will be available for purchase.
